Calories Do Count

Getting lean depends on one thing, and that one thing is consistently staying in a calorie deficit. Yes there are “good foods” and “bad foods”, but calories are the biggest influence on how much you weigh and how you look. Now obviously, 100 calories of soda and chips won’t provide the same nutrition as 100 calories of green leafy vegetables or fresh fruit. Different foods affect your hunger levels because different foods either turn on or turn off your internal hunger switch. I can choose to eat a fresh green salad with carrots, spinach, artichoke hearts, jicama, corn, cucumbers, red bell peppers, heaerts of palm, OR I can choose a small bag of chips with dip. Both meals would have around 350 calories, but both meals would not have the same affect on my hunger. I am satisfied for a longer period of time after eating the salad for sure. My body is nourished and tells my brain that I’m full. Chips and dip on the other hand only leave me hunger for something else. It didn’t nourish my cells. My brain is still telling me to eat something so I can be satisfied. I will probably crave something sweet to offset the salt from the chips so a soda would sound good. Do you see where this is going?

Most people don’t know how many calories they’re consuming in a day. They are really easy to track. You can go to Livestrong.com/myplate or MyFitnessPal.com. Both are free and easy to use. When you become aware of the calories going in and the calories being burned off, you will be well on your way to success. Track your daily results and adjust based on your results. This may be the one thing that will make all the difference for you. It may be as easy as creating a 100 calorie deficit per day. You could lose 1 to 2 pounds in 30 days. Now this might not seem like a lot to you, but when is the last time you lost 1 or 2 pounds? And if you did, how fast did you gain it back. By putting these habits in place, you’ll lose it and keep it off and It won’t seem like you’re depriving yourself either. Add to this some exercise and you’ll really see results!

Here are some 100 calorie foods that you probably won’t miss: two Oreos, one-third of a Snickers bar, two-thirds of a Twinkie, half of a glazed donut and a Two-Bite Brownie, 20 roasted peanuts, half of a small apple with 2 tsp. of peanut butter, 12 Quaker Cheddar Cheese Rice Snacks, a mini bag of Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn or 60 Goldfish crackers. You may not eat these types of foods, but you get the picture. 100 calories over time can make a huge difference. You get to chose what type of difference it will make on your body.

Live in Super-Natural Power

My child, I have given you My Spirit. I live in and through you. Is there anything too impossible for Me? Is there anything that I cannot accomplish? Stop thinking in terms of the natural and start believing in the super-natural. I am God of the impossible. I spoke and the world was created. I move and the mountains shake. I open doors that no one can shut. Walk by My Spirit. Walk in the reality of My super-natural power. You have authority in My Name. You have power in My Spirit. You have victory in My resurrection. Live in this reality. Open your eyes to the freedom, the authority, the power and the abundance I have provided for you. Allow Me to live in and through you and you’ll see My glory. You’ll see miracles. You’ll live the abundant life I have provided.

Rejoice Rest & Receive

My child, your place is in Me. Your home is established in the heavens and I hold your future in My hands. You have nothing to fear. I have created all things for My glory and for My purpose. There is nothing that I don’t know about. Place all your trust in Me. Lay down every vain thing and every empty pursuit. Seek Me and My Kingdom and I will give you all I have prepared for you. Release your hand, open your heart and I will pour forth from My hand all that is in My heart for you. Your place is in Me My child. Come, rejoice, rest and receive.

Walk with Expectation

“Rise up O bride. I am stirring up My power. My face is shining on My people and they will be saved. Walk with expectation. Sing for joy. Live in the full knowledge of My promises for those you love. For I delight in unchanging love. My lovingkindness is everlasting. I redeem lives from the pit. I satisfy your years with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle. Rise up O bride. Rejoice and be glad, for the time is near for you to see My lovingkindness poured out on your children’s children. I the Lord have established My throne in the heavens and My sovereignty rules over all.”
Micah 7:18, Psalm 8:2, Psalm 103:5 & 17

Trust Me

My child, I’ve given you My word, are you going to believe Me? I’ve asked you to follow Me, will you come? I have given you everything you need to live out this life, will you trust Me? Move out of the realm of doubt and into My marvelous light. Live in My Kingdom. Live by My Spirit. Live in a manner worthy of your calling. My desire is to use you for My purposes while you’re here on earth. Don’t waste another minute living in fear or doubt.

Your Father who is faithful to the end.

Let My Love Overflow

I got this word over the past two days. I think I needed to hear it during this Christmas season. Hope it blesses you.

My child, My bride, My love for you is greater than you can imagine. My compassion and mercy for you runs deep. My thoughts and ways are so much higher than yours and My word will not return to Me empty. So walk in the love I have provided for you, for by this all men will know that you are My disciples, it you have love for one another. Let My love overflow from you and spill over to all who are around you. Don’t hold My love back from anyone. For those hardest to love are those who need it the most. Be My vessel of love today

Isaiah 55:11

John 13: 34&35.

Be an Overcomer

My child, I have called you to live a victorious life. I have called you to be an overcomer. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 1 John 5: 4&5, 20.

Live in Me My child. I have given you a heart to know Me and through My Son you can live in Me. This is victory. This is life. It’s yours for the taking. Just believe.

Faith is no Cake-walk

God does not normally reveal Himself in a way that our physical senses can perceive Him, so this is why faith is required on our part. Now I’m not suggesting that God doesn’t allow us to be aware of His presence; He does. Our experience of Him, however, comes by spiritual means—not physical. But why would God keep Himself hidden at all? Wouldn’t it be much easier to simply appear to us periodically to tell us what He wants? Well, that wouldn’t require faith, would it? Our inability to grasp Him by our natural senses makes faith indispensable. Faith is at the very heart of God’s plan for us. That’s why Scripture tells us that it’s impossible for man to satisfy God without it (Hebrews 11:6). But since faith is so contrary to everything instinctive to our humanity, believing Him will never be all that easy. To be sure, it appears that He never meant it to be! (Romans 8:24-25)

Your Stay on Earth

My child, don’t be surprised that the world hates you because of My Name, for I was hated by the world when I walked the earth. I have you here for a little while and then you will be with Me for eternity. Endure to the end. Make the most of your short stay here on earth. Accomplish what I have given you to do. Live your life as unto Me. You need no other approval but Mine. Live a joyful, fruitful life. Live in peace and harmony with your brothers and sisters. Make this a better place because you lived a life worthy of your calling and glorified Me to the fullest. Do not let fear, discouragement or shame stop you from what I’ve called you to do. Walk in My power and strength. Stand firm and don’t shrink back. Your reward is with Me.

Cease Striving

I am your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore do not fear. I am in your midst. I am your help. I am your stronghold. Cease striving and know that I am God. I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth. I am with you. Is it not I who move mountains, who opens doors that cannot be shut and shuts doors that cannot be opened? Your life and future are in My hands. You are secure in Me. Psalm 46
