63. No Struggle in Bearing Fruit!

Jesus said, “I am the vine and you are the branches.” Jesus is talking about us being alive, but His emphasis is on fruitfulness. A branch barely connected to the vine might get the basic nutrients needed to survive—but it won’t produce quality fruit.

So if our hope is centered on a “relationship” with Christ, even though it may be largely superficial, we’re only kidding ourselves. If that sounds like you, there’s no need for panic. God has a whole lot more in mind for us. And He’s provided everything we need to be focused and productive.

A branch doesn’t have to struggle in order to bear fruit; it just happens naturally. It’s the same with godly fruit. We don’t need to worry a lot about being fruitful. We just need to maintain a dynamic connection to the source. Pursue God! Jesus said, “he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit.”
