Seven Ingredients for a Healthy & Fit Lifestyle #1

This is a condensed version of a talk I gave at a ladies breakfast at our church. Incorporating all these ingredients into your life will help increase your energy and put you on the road to a more healthy and fit lifestyle.

I love everything about food and nutrition and since it’s all about food with me, I named this, “Seven Ingredients to a Healthy & Fit Lifestyle”.

What I want to share are seven ingredients that have helped me have an abundance of energy and maintain, (key word here, MAINTAIN), a healthy & fit life.

We are tri-dimensional, physical, spiritual and mental, and deal with the complete person. This is the ONLY way to have complete success at a healthy balanced life. And we’re not all cut from the same mold, but we do have similarities. Take these basic ingredients and make your own recipe by tweaking things here and there until you find what works best for you as an individual. There is no ONE SIZE FITS ALL. God will give you direction and wisdom. He has a purpose in mind for your life and He will lead you into it. But you’ve got to start moving so take the first step.

Ingredient #1. You must totally surrender to God and fully depend on Him alone. God created us in such a way that we can experience His “flow” by the power of the Holy Spirit. As we walk in His plan for our lives, He gives us everything we need. Strength in weakness, power in our inability and confidence in our circumstances. We must give over total control and fully surrender every part of our being. All our hopes, dreams, thoughts, mindsets, beliefs, everything must be surrendered to Him.

A wonderful new book hot off the press called, “Free From The Power Of Sin” says, “It all boils down to this; our beliefs, our mind-sets, our choices, and our behaviour are all dictated by what is truly in the heart. And the power to make positive choices is wholly dependent on one essential qualification. Christ’s indwelling presence. Walking our our faith, then, in the reality of our new self comes about by making up our mind to do so, while relying totally upon what God has already provided through His overcoming power.”

We must come to the place of total surrender and dependence on God, relinquishing EVERYTHING over to Him. That is the number one starting place for success in any area of our life.

Ingredient number 2 to follow. Stay tuned!

A Deeper Place

My child, I am bringing you into that deeper place your soul longs for. A place I have prepared for you to come and eat and drink all I have for you. Come and be filled with living water. I will satisfy your every craving. I will fill you to overflowing so you will go out and bless others. The only way you will be fruitful is to remain in Me.

Come and be filled

Remain and be still

I will equip you for the work of My service and supply you with everything you need to carry out My purpose.

I hear you

My child, I hear every one of your prayers. I hear the cry for your family and know your heart for the lost. Know that I am working in their lives. I am drawing their hearts to Me and you will see the fruit of your prayers. Things may look bleak now but keep believing. My timing is perfect and you will see My mighty works and outstretched hand in the lives of those you love. Don’t give up on them. I haven’t.

Your Father who loves them more than you do.

“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

All you need

My child, I am strength in your weakness. I am love when you have a hard time loving. I am joy when you are broken-hearted. I am peace when all the world is chaotic. Come and rest in My Arms. I will bring the refreshing you need. I nourish your soul and give you the strength you need to go on.

Come to Me all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Pride & Rebellion

Receive counsel My child and live. Be on the alert for every form of pride and rebellion in yourself. This is why I require you to fully surrender all to Me so you won’t be trapped in pride and rebellion. Peace comes only when you are wholly devoted and fully surrendered to Me.

“Through insolence comes nothing but strife, but wisdom is with those who receive counsel.” Proverbs 13:10

Haunted or Plagued?

My child, I know your heart. I formed you in your mother’s womb and know everything about you. I know your thoughts even before you think them. I am intimately acquainted with ALL your ways. Don’t think for a minute that I don’t love you because you think certain thoughts. I love you with everlasting love. I am passionate about our relationship and will pursue you until the day you die. I don’t want you to be haunted or plagued by your thoughts. I desire that you release them to Me and live in the freedom and peace I’ve called you to. Come My child. Give Me your thoughts. Give Me your all and live.

Your Father in heaven who’s crazy about you.

Psalm 139

Choice with Teeth!

Why does God allow us to encounter so much conflict and hardship in life? How does it all fit in with His plan to bring us into union with Him? Choice is the answer!

Our redemption does not merely rest on our initial decision to make Jesus Lord of our life. It’s true that receiving Christ as Lord is the bedrock of our salvation, but our relationship with Him is built on a series of decisions we make over the course of a lifetime. Because life’s circumstances are tough, these choices are rarely easy. God allowed sin to exist for this very reason.

If God had designed things so that it would be easy to follow Him, our choices would have little meaning. Our pursuit of Jesus, while forsaking our own selfish desires, is what He wants. And He’s created the ideal system to measure our progress: life here on earth.

Old Habits are Hard to Break

My child, most people won’t start out being as passionate as you are. Most people have been doing things their own way for a long time. Habit patterns are hard to break. Mind sets are difficult to change, but by prayer and continuing to be an example will make a difference. You do what I’m calling you to do and make sure you’re being obedient before you judge others. I will draw them and use you in the process as you continue to obey Me and walk in My Spirit.

True Purpose

Millions upon millions of Christians have been lulled into thinking that God’s purpose for us as His children boils down to not much more than enjoying a rewarding life here on earth while on our way to all the benefits of a heavenly reward later. And because of this mindset, it’s only natural for us to focus on what God can do for us here and now. But while this attitude neatly fits in with our human appetites and ambitions, it merely serves to derail our spiritual growth.

This clever deception of the evil one has been a blight on believers—probably down through the centuries, but certainly in this modern age of prosperity. Yet though many of our teachers attempt to make a biblical case for this philosophy, it clearly has little support when the entire context of Scripture is taken into account.

The Westminster Catechism says that “Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and enjoy Him forever.” So true, yet we need to recognize that a big part of God’s purpose also encompasses His enjoyment of man forever. As a result, He has put together a program which fosters the achievement of both goals very effectively. In what way, though, might God enjoy us as fully as we enjoy Him? By making us His very own sons and daughters. God has indeed fashioned us in the way He has to accomplish this very purpose.

You have the Victory

My child, shake off guilt, condemnation and shame. Shake off fear, anxiety and worry. You are My child, bought with My blood and redeemed for My purposes. You are clothed in royalty and have the crown of life. Take up every piece of armor available to you and stand. Rule and reign in the midst of your enemies. You are a warrior. you are a fighter and in Me you have the victory!
