Getting Enough Calories?

This is a question that I struggled with when a coach asked me this back a few months ago. My target calories were 1300 per day. I was bound and determined to lose some fat and thought that this would do it. Well now it’s July and I have finally realized that I wasn’t eating enough calories! Since then, I’ve started eating around 1800 calories for most days. I eat a plant-based vegan diet getting around 100 grams of protein a day. I eat a lot of green leafy veggies, as well as high protein grains, beans, lentils, soy, almond butter in small quantities, some nuts & seeds and rice, hemp and pea protein. I’ve been watching my measurements move in the right direction. The scale is irrelevant to me so I only use that as a tool to check my body fat. This coach also helped break my scale addiction as well. I’m so thankful for the support and encouragement to get my head wrapped around the higher calories, dump the ‘ideal’ scale weight and hit the weights HARD AND HEAVY!

I’m starting to see some definition and I KNOW I am fueling my body, building muscle and melting the fat off. I have more energy than when I was in my 20’s and 30’s! This was a huge revelation to me. My moods are no longer affected by a dumb number on a scale and my clothes are nice and loose! Thank goodness for the sale racks. I just found a pair of new jeans for $26.00 after a $10.00 off coupon!

All things are possible with God! You just gotta believe Him!

I’m 52, soon to be 53, and there is no turning back from this lifestyle. I LOVE it!

Anyone struggling with the question of calories? Try fueling your body with high quality foods, hit the weights and see what happens. Know that your body will try to hold on to every bit of fat it can when it thinks you’re in starvation mode. Avoid that at all cost! Build up some muscle and the fat will fade away when you get the balance right.  Feel free to email me with any questions.

Choices

My child, the choices you make affect those around you and have lasting repercussions. Choose wisely in the big things as well as the small. People around you are watching. Don’t thing for a minute your actions won’t go unnoticed. You have more influence than you think. Stay humble and stay close to Me. I give you all the wisdom you need.

Self-Will Twisted

The gift of self-interest has become twisted. What began in a more perfect world as a healthy motivation to support and enhance life has degenerated in this fallen world into a power struggle—man against his fellow man in an egotistical attempt to improve his standing in life.

Satan is well aware of this weakness in our nature. So he uses it to dominate man, taking him down the road to self-destruction in an endless cycle of immorality and greed.(Ephesians 4:19) The truth is that self-will can never be satisfied devoid of relationship with God, and it’s desperately sad that so many have been blinded to this reality.

Man’s first taste of the bitterness of self-will was experienced by Adam. The fall of man is a very sad beginning to human history, but is also interesting because it says so much about our nature. Many Christians view Adam as being a perfect man—someone very different from man as we know him today. The fact is he was a perfect man. He was created sinless in a sinless world, which is the reason God could inhabit his being so freely and completely.

Yet this raises a question as to what the true definition of human perfection actually is. I think Adam was human in all the ways we’ve seen man’s nature to be in the foregoing chapters. What perfected his humanity was his relationship with God, and the fact that he dwelt in fellowship with God in a sinless world.

Treasures In Heaven

My child, do the work of a servant. Have a good attitude when you are called to do the more menial tasks. In humility be willing to lay down your life for another. In doing, you are storing up treasures in heaven. Life is full of opportunities to be bitter or better. Choose the better way. Choose to serve with a happy heart.

Pray

My child, now is the time to press in and pray. There is a fork in the road and some that you are praying for are wrestling with which way to go. Pray that they choose Me, the only path to life. Your prayers are effective and powerful. Keep believing and keep praying My child. You will see fruit from your prayers. My desire is that none perish, but for all to come to repentance.

James 5:16   2 Peter 3:9

The Flow Of The Holy Spirit

My child, the more often you submit to Me, the more often you will encounter Me. The more you lay down your life, the more I can live through you. When you hold back, I must hold back the blessings I have intended for you. Release it all and enter into the flow of My Holy Spirit. There is no greater adventure in this life than allowing Me to live through you.

Peace

My child, I alone satisfy that deep longing in your heart. I alone bring calm to the storms. I am peace. Nothing or no one else will ever bring peace to your soul except Me. I created you with the ability to experience My peace and to be completely satisfied in Me. Every other substitute will leave you lacking. Come and enter My peace. The world will take notice and desire to know how you live this way. You have the only answer. You have Me.

The Gift of Self-Will

What is self-will all about? Surprisingly, self-will, which is embedded in self-interest, is actually a gift of God. But how could something potentially so ugly be a gift of God? It’s because life here on earth demands that we either take care of ourselves or die. And God has placed in each of us the compelling drive to live. We hang on to life with all we’ve got! This can clearly be seen in the way man tries his utmost to enhance and extend his life in any way possible. Only the hopeless cause life to abruptly end, or allow it to simply waste away.

And added to this powerful need to cling to life is man’s yearning for significance. Significance is another of God’s gifts essential to our being because our need for meaning and purpose provides the underlying motivation for reaching toward God’s purpose for us. We possess an inherent need to feel important—to have a healthy sense of self-worth. This need is rooted in the fact that we truly are valuable, yet often unaware that it is so.

Your Destiny

My child, I am changing your thought processes. I am giving you My desires. The things you thought were of utmost importance will fade away in comparison with what I have for you. Your life is in My hands and I know the outcome. As you draw closer to Me, you will want Me more and the things of the world will lose their grip on your affections. I am jealous for you. I have so much to give you. Don’t waste your time worrying about the things of the world when I have a glorious plan awaiting you. Set your heart and affections on Me alone. Only then will you come into the calling and destiny I have planned for you.
