My Peace

My child, there will always be times of strife and hardship in this world, but you can experience My peace. You possess the peace that surpasses understanding because you possess Me. I am Peace. When you see and experience what seems like out of control situations, come to Me. I alone bring the peace you are searching for. Never look to the world for answers. The world will never be able to satisfy your soul. I alone can and will supply all your needs according to My riches in glory.

Philippians 4:7 & 19

Delight Yourself

My child, how blessed are you when you delight yourself in Me. How victorious you are when you live your life in faith and believe Me. How happy you are when you are thankful in every circumstance. How peaceful you are when you choose to trust Me instead of fretting about situations you have no control over. Delight yourself in Me and I will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Me, trust also in Me, and I will do it.

Psalm 37: 4&5

Everlasting Love

My child, how much do you love your loved ones and want the best for them? Well multiply that by a million times and you would still fall short of how much I love and care for you. I want My very best for you. I have an awesome life for you. You just need to trust Me and follow Me with your whole heart. I will lead you as you seek Me. Never doubt My love and don’t be afraid of the future. You are in My hands. No matter how many times you fall I still love you with an everlasting love. And I always will.

Your Father in heaven who’s love you can count on.

Psalm 139: 1-18

Kingdom Living

My child, I have set you apart. You belong to Me. Avoid getting caught up in all the world has to offer. You are a soldier in My Kingdom. Don’t entangle yourself in the affairs of everyday life. You are not to go after the worldly but the heavenly prize. Start thinking more about Kingdom living and less about earthly surviving. Start focusing on Me and seeking My face and stop trying to please people who don’t care about your soul. Consider yourself dead to sin and alive to Me.

2 Timothy 2: 4&5  Romans 6:11

Best Effort

I was reading about what the famous basketball coach John Wooden said to his players. He told them that he didn’t consider winning the most important thing. As a matter of fact, he never mentioned winning to his players. He stressed “best effort” for everybody, and felt that a player should feel badly only if he didn’t give it his all.

That really hit me recently as I was running along side my running buddy. We are side by side as long as we’re running at a steady pace, but when it’s time to sprint, she bolts out way ahead of me. Knowing I was giving it MY best effort put all my feelings of failure of not being able to keep up with her away. I felt great knowing that I had given it my all and I could feel proud of my workout. I don’t dread her sprinting ahead anymore. She is 30 years younger than I am, so I shouldn’t be feeling that bad anyway! I want to know that I’ve done my best and that is success. I’m glad that I came to that conclusion before her 20 year old friend joined us too!

Spend Time with Me

My child, do you want to be more like Me? Spend more time with Me. Do the things I do. Follow My lead and obey Me. You end up acting like the ones you’re around most. So choose carefully who you spend time with. Make sure you’re prepared before you go out among unbelievers. The only way to be prepared is spending time with Me.

Romans 8:29

Heirs of God

What does it mean to be God’s son or daughter? It’s vitally important to understand the dynamic status we’ve freely been given in Christ, because without an appreciation for what this relationship encompasses, we are unlikely to move beyond a certain level of spiritual growth. “I realize what it means to be a child of God,” you might again be thinking. But have you really come to grips with the magnitude of this promise?

How often do we stop and think about what Paul meant by saying, “The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ…”(Romans 8:16-17). Do you notice the principle of inheritance here? Just as God promised that Abraham would be an heir, we also are heirs of God. Paul makes it very clear in Romans 4:16 that “those who are of the faith of Abraham” are his descendants and therefore heirs of the promise. But in our case the promise is even greater, because what we are to inherit is the fulfillment of that which God planned for His children from the very beginning of time—the promise of “a new covenant”; that of an “eternal inheritance,” as the writer of Hebrews so succinctly states.(Hebrews 9:15) What an incredible opportunity we’ve been handed!

Fellow heirs with Christ? It’s tough, isn’t it, trying to envision ourselves as the heirs of the splendors of all that belongs to God. Can you even imagine? If we could really grasp this truth, wouldn’t it change everything for us? Wouldn’t we just naturally live out our faith in a whole new way—a life of greater focus, a life so much more motivated to “…walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called?”(6)

Hidden Wealth of Secret Places

My child, I have you. I will open doors before you. I will go before you and make the rough places smooth. I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden wealth of secret places, so that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name. You are My chosen one. Believe Me today.

Isaiah 45: 2-5

Move out of My way

My child, when I ask you to deny yourself and take up your cross and follow Me, it’s not so you have to do without, it’s so I can pour everything I have for you in. It’s to make room for the blessings and life that I have planned. When your plan is in the way, I can’t begin to bring you into your purpose. Move out of My way. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
