My child, shout for joy today for I am able to turn crisis into victory. I am able to make what you thought was failure into success. Look to Me alone for your peace. Feast on My word and all the promises I have for you. Do not look to the world for fulfillment. The world will not satisfy. Only I hold the key to your fulfillment. Only I satisfy the longing in your heart.
My Purpose?
Paul tells us that we’ve been “created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we would walk in them.”(Ephesians 2:10) God has created and redeemed each one of us with an individual purpose in mind, often thought of as a personal calling.
We all share this inward tug as believers. So letting life move us forward without any real sense of direction can’t help but lead to a sense of confusion and frustration. “What am I doing for God? I just don’t know what my purpose is. Why can’t I be more like what’s-his-name over there?”
This is by no means an uncommon problem. In talking with others over the years, I’ve come to the conclusion that the majority of Christians find themselves stuck in the disappointing position of not understanding what God’s intent is for their life. I often sense it myself. And even those who have been used by God in some unique way sometimes share this frustration, since falling back into that familiar holding pattern is easy to do once a job is completed.
Apparently we can’t just lean back and rest on our laurels, since that merely serves to produce the same sense of dissatisfaction as if we’d never experienced the fulfillment of walking in God’s calling at all.
Don’t Try To Fix This
My child, rest in Me and know that I am at work. I will not leave you or forsake you. I am holding you in the palm of My hand and will reveal My glory to you as you rest believe and trust. Don’t try to fix this in your own strength. Leave it to Me. I am the author and perfecter of your faith.
Hebrews: 13:5 Isaiah 49:16 Hebrews 12:2
Trust ~ Acknowledge ~ Listen
My child, trust in Me with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Me and I will make your paths straight. I will lead and guide you today. Follow Me with your whole heart. Do not trust in your self-sufficiency. Do not go the ways of the world. Listen to Me and take the narrow path of truth.
Proverbs: 3:5 & 6
Do Not Fear
My child, I am above all, in all and over all. Get your mind off of the temporal and set it on the eternal. Nothing is impossible with Me. I am your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. I reign over the nations and am your stronghold. Do not give in to fear, for I have chosen gladly to give you the Kingdom.
Psalm 46:1 Luke 12:32
Live Free
My child, I desire your complete healing. In the innermost parts of your being, I want you to be free. Free from shame, unforgiveness, bitterness and doubt. I want you to live in the freedom I have provided. I died so that you could live. Live free. Joyfully come in to the calling that I have for you. Today is the day. Rejoice in your freedom and healing today.
We Need Purpose
Do you ever feel like you’re in some sort of holding pattern as a Christian? Even though you may be pursuing relationship with Christ—faithfully fulfilling your sense of duty by going to church, loving God, your family and others, and just being a good person in general—there’s a good chance that you’re still left with a sense of emptiness.
The reason for this is that along with being born as a child of God into Christ’s kingdom there comes an innate sense of destiny. So if we’re living life simply biding our time, more or less going through the motions of our faith, we shouldn’t be surprised to find ourselves not entirely satisfied.
The issue is purpose. not necessarily our eternal purpose in Christ, but rather the purpose for our life while on earth. One very perplexing problem for the Christian is that it’s possible to have a good understanding of God’s heavenly purpose and still be quite bewildered as to His earthly purpose for us.
Take A Stand
My child, I’m asking you to take a stand for truth. I’m asking you to be strong and courageous and be careful to do according to all I tell you. Do not turn from it to the right or the left, so that you may have success wherever you go. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it, for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
Joshua 1: 6-9
A New Song
My child, I am putting a new song in your heart. I have removed your heart of stone and replaced it with a heart of flesh. I have set you in the heavenly places far above the rulers of this world. I have given you the mind of Christ and a heart of a disciple. Walk in the power of My Holy Spirit, with gentleness, humility and faith.
Ezekiel 36:26 Ephesians 2:6 1 Corinthians 2:16 Colossians 3:12
Choose to Praise
My child, rejoice in Me today. Make this a day of deliberate worship. As you go about your day today, look for things to thank Me for. Be intentional about your choices. Choose to praise instead of complain. Choose worship instead of worry. Choose to believe instead of doubt. I am with you today. Acknowledge My presence in the midst of your trials.
