Your Prize

Don’t let Satan defraud you of your prize. Take time to pray and listen. Don’t let an hour of your day go by before you come to Me for instruction, wisdom and insight. In prayer I will reveal My plan for your day. In communion with Me I will give you all you need for each moment. The time you spend with Me is the most important time of your day. Everything else will fall into place as you go about life if you come to Me first. “Seek Me first, and the kingdom of God and all these other things shall be added to you.”

Self-interest: a Gift of God

Self-interest, ugly as it may be, is actually a gift of God. It helps us make our way in this world. Having a healthy sense of self-worth—feeling significant—motivates us to reach toward God’s purpose for our life. It’s rooted in the fact that we truly are valuable.
God showed me this in an unusual way. Next door to us lived a child with Down Syndrome. He functioned at the level of a three-year-old, though he was much older. But his condition allowed him to speak freely from the heart—totally without pretense. Every time I saw this young man, he asked, “Do you love me?” Now we wouldn’t dare express ourselves like this, but isn’t this need at our very core? “Am I significant to you? Am I deserving of your love?” Self-interest—a gift of God? Yes! Because an inconsequential life is tough to bear, and one that is meaningless is practically a death sentence.

My Resources Are Unlimited

My child, you have an Advocate. In your own strength, you can’t, but in Me you can. Focus your attention on Me and all I have to offer. Turn your gaze away from what you lack and look to the riches I have for you. Cast your cares on Me. My resources are unlimited.

This Is The Way

My child, those who err in mind will know the truth. And those who criticize will accept instruction. Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it.”  Isaiah 29:24 30:21

The Promise

Have I given you a promise but it is taking too long for you? Have I spoken a truth but you have not seen the evidence of it yet? Do not lose heart or become impatient. Keep believing. At the appointed time you will see My promise come to pass. It is in My hands.

A New Day

Today is a new day. Choose to believe Me today. Choose to spend time with Me and forsake all else that distracts your thoughts. I will bring direction. I will set you on My path. Be determined to place all your trust in Me. Do not think about the outcome so much. Think about abiding in My Presence. I have the outcome in My hands. I am your peace. I am your joy. Set your heart and mind on Me alone. Choose Me today and everything else will fall into place. your Father who knows and cares for you.

God Losing Value in our Eyes

Jesus said His kingdom is like someone who discovers hidden treasure, or a valuable pearl, and immediately recognizes the magnitude of his find. It’s about surrendering everything to gain this amazing salvation, but I think there’s even more to it than that. Why? Because what we first find so precious has the tendency to lose value in our eyes.
One day I was struck by how oblivious the owner of the treasure was to its true worth. Are we like that? Are we like the owner of the field who neglected to notice what was so easily uncovered by some passerby, or akin to the merchant so lax in his trade that he failed to recognize the true value of the pearl he owned?
Have we forfeited our treasure in Christ for something less meaningful? In the weakness of our flesh, it’s not uncommon to fall short of a single-minded pursuit of Christ. There are reasons a zealous heart slips into complacency, and understanding them is extremely helpful in trying to rekindle that lost fire.

He is Worthy

Hear oh people, the Lord our God is one God. He is the Creator of the Universe. The King of Kings and Lord of all. Come oh people. Come into His presence. Humble yourself and bow down. Present yourself as a living sacrifice to the Holy One. He is worthy of our praise. He has called us to be His people. Come and let the presence of the Lord undo you. Let His glory and majesty flood your soul. Come and bow down and give Him the praise and worship He so desires and deserves.

One Day At A Time

My child, I am your provision. I take care of all your needs according to My riches in glory. Walk through the doors I open for you and don’t lose heart. Stay the course. I will provide for you one day at a time.
